It takes a lot for young hippity-hop dancers to impress me... but this routine let me have it. I cant imagine how many hours of rehearsal, hard work, frustration and dedication went into this, but it definitely paid off!! And its CLEAR that these kids know the importance of a team coming together... there doesnt seem to be any showboating, or anyone breaking out from what was agreed on. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. #syncopation #isolations #resistance #phrasing #clean #levels HOWEVER... as great as the transitions were, between song selections AND between subgroups of dancers within each song selection... Im always disappointed in the lack of CONTRAST. Weave a smooth, lyrical dancer randomly amid all the sharply angled isolations, or break the music down to something melodic without the beat, but keep the tempo and syncopation going -- to see if the dancers really CAN dance without the training wheels of a hard-edged kick drum. Still, this group was... yeah, they were the shit. I gotta watch it again!
