It takes a village to .. keep a state park open. Since the Valley of the Moon Natural History Association assumed responsibility for the parks operation in 2012, the number of volunteers who work at Jack London, Sugarloaf and Annadel State Parks has grown from 100 to over 400. These enthusiastic people do everything from leading interpretive walks, staffing kiosks, the museum and the cottage, maintain trails and do endless other tasks. Without them, the parks could not function. Last night, it was again time to honor volunteers with an appreciation dinner. Unlike last year, when it rained, the weather was kind this year and under a cloudy sky, the volunteers enjoyed their dinner in the shade of the Cottage and the ancient Coast Live Oak.
