It takes basic scientific knowledge to ascertain the spurious nature of the rumour making round that taking your bath with hot water and salt will prevent you from contracting the now feared Ebola Virus. At best, you will have succeeded in killing the epidermal microbes when you bath with hot water and salt but you will still get Ebola when you touch and pass to your mucuous membranes, the secretions of an already sick Ebola victim. I was virtually denied my night rest as I have been inundated with calls from loved ones urging me take the antidotal bath. Currently, there is no need to get panicky. Simply avoid contacts with people who are visibly sick. An Ebola carrier who is yet to exhibit symptoms will not transmit the virus on making contact with you. The authorities should come out to dispel this rumour before Nigerians begin to think that a bath with hot water and salt makes one invincible to Ebola and hence ignore all the precautionary steps at staying uninfected.
