It takes more than one to tango! This not just about one issue and - TopicsExpress

It takes more than one to tango! This not just about one issue and one person. What about the elected councillors in the majority group? The point has been made... and made... and made... about one person and about bullying. The internet is very instant. Some member of this group seem to expect immediate answers. Maybe not all local councillors have adjusted to the internet age. The current regime have demonstrated that they are not very PR savvy. Larger local authorities will have one or more former journalists, who may well be experienced press and PR officers. I guess we need at least some patience when waiting for a response with a smaller organisation, which the town council is. They will also be looking to see how this mornings drop-in goes. I am not going, but have written to my 4 ward councillors, requesting their comments. Dont you think going on... and on... and on... about one person and using mockery as well as straightforward comment can become distasteful in the end? I believe no-one can feel more strongly about bullying than I do, though I have not been personally involved with the council. Bullying is widespread in our society, unfortunately, and can take a number of forms. We cant eradicate it by just turning on one person. To remind members of this page of the issues raised by our MP, Norman Baker, I am posting the link to his letter to the Auditor earlier this week. Its true that bullying is the first point. I dont know what happened - I wasnt there. Is it because many of us have ourselves been bullied at some time, or have seen it happen to someone close to us, that there have been so many comments here? Enough is enough. We need elected councillors - especially those who are office holders who are able recognise and get to grips with problems at an early stage. It is a lot to ask of our unpaid councillors. Its now the job of the town council to resolve the problems in a fair, democratic and open way. Maybe it would be helpful to them if they called on some outside expertise? We need to be a little patient in waiting for answers (I said a little). And please, please, more than enough has been said about one individual. Enough mockery, flippancy - however much fun it is - enough public statements for now?? It takes more than one to tango! normanbaker.org.uk/2014/01/21/letter-to-the-audit-commission-regarding-seaford-town-council/
