It the season of thieves once again in Haiti. They need funds to pay for their childrens schooling. Happens every year right as school is beginning. It also happens in December as people prepare for the upcoming year (Independence Day party the first week of January). Last night they came over our wall but I scared them away. They had thought the house was empty. They then went down a few doors to a home for a Catholic Sisters organization. No one was home. They got into the house. No idea the extent of what was taken. Earlier this week they hit my cousin-in-law, Obnes home, stealing a large motorcycle and a Honda generator (note: this is not the Obenes that visitors of the past know). The next night they stole someones truck. My guess is that they have hit elsewhere as well. Yesterday I had installed one security camera outside and one inside. I moved the inside one outside just now. Set a trap. Didnt repair the razor wire they had gone through. Instead I placed six sheets of tin roofing leaning up against the wall. That should make some noise. I also got the number for the police station. Pray that we catch them. Wishing I had two more cameras.
