It took 7 hours and 3 hospitals to find Moses medical care today. The hospital that took him did not have room, your prayers intervened on the hearts of two traveling nurses. When it actually happened- it felt like a miracle. Tonight I learned a reality of injustice that lead me to tears in every waiting room. A 5 year old weighing 9 pounds was second to the babies with Chikungunya. The strength of the mothers I saw tonight waiting hours upon hours- patting their children to find consciousness was humbling. There was NO impatience, they waited in silent hope. Id love to show you, but I cant. I road in the back of a pick-up truck thru the city during transport- and my iPhone was stolen out of my hands when we slowed down at a busy intersection. Rhyan and the 57 year old man that runs the orphanage Moses lived in tried chasing the guy yelling thief! in creole. I sat in the middle of that intersection, in the back of a truck while a huge group gathered around me trying to tell me things I didnt understand. I felt very vulnerable. I asked God to hit me hard with the reality of Haiti before the boys came. He answers prayers. The area we live in is much different, and I now have some clear boundaries of where I will take them. And Rhyan had just warned me... Some lessons are learned the Haiti way.
