It took how many years for the City of Philadelphia to give Joe Frazier his own Statue honoring his accomplishments and excitement from his Trilogy of Bouts with the Greatest Muhammad Ali, after having a fictional statue of the motion picture series ROCKY BALBOA stand erected for how many years ? Just in the U. S. alone, we have over one hundred years of Great Boxing History engrained in our wonderful memories of entertainment. Tell me WHEN will we give those fallen great fighters that have lost there lives to this Great Sport over the Years ? The United States no longer dominates the BOXING WORLD like it once did. Today you have Wladimir Klitschko who has reigned as the Heavyweight Champion of the World for over 9yrs now. He has defended the TITLE for 18 defenses as of last night, and he has defeated every top contender from every corner of the WORLD. Dont you feel if he were a Jerry Quarry or Gerry Cooney from the past 70s to 90s era, he would be touted as one of the BEST Heavyweight Champions of all Time ? We got TRIPLE G in the Middleweight Division, we got Manny Pacquiao, Carl Froch, and many, many more Greats,,but still through this whole Worldwide Boxing Community, tell me where do these GREATS GO for financial assistance when there careers have ended ? NO PENSION, NO HEALTH INSURANCE, NO FINANCIAL Institution or Body, looking out for there WELFARE. Hell not every World top Contender will ever make enough money to have anything when there careers are through. I remember when the lighter weight divisions and all time Greats like a Ruben Olivares, Jose Napoles, Carlos Monzon, and even the Great Light Heavyweight Champion Bob Foster, who never was defeated as a Light Heavyweight Champion, hardly made more the 100,000.00 for a Title defense. There is more MONEY in BOXING today then there has been in the history of the SPORT. And many of these aforementioned Boxers are still with us today. If you LOVE the SPORT of Boxing as much as I do, and I dedicated many years of my life to it, then show what a COMPASSIONATE reasonable prudent person would do, Change it, do something dont just set on your hands or talk about it, make it happen. Just look at the GREATEST in TRUE FORM in this video clip, what a wonderful world it would be if we could avoid the inevitable, and have his Great GIFT of CHARISMA with us today in the form he once was before the last 32yrs of his life. It can be done, it just takes some Heavyweights to step forward and say enough is enough, lets give back to those who are less fortunate that have competed in Professional Boxing.
