It took seven years, but the Brothers Keeper Club at BHS has reached its fundraising goal of $50,000 to build a safe home for Native American woman Marcia Wells. Wells cares for many children on the Crow Creek Reservation in Ft. Thompson, South Dakota, and was previously living in a run-down trailer. As a way to say thanks to the community for funding this project, the Brothers Keeper Club is hosting a “Community Thank You” on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 4-6:30 p.m. in the BHS Faculty Cafeteria. Anyone involved in the club over its 15-year lifetime is invited, and those interested in learning more are also welcome. Refreshments will be served.
