It took until 2015 for me to figure out that social media creates in my this wish of my Self to annihilate the Other. This occurs because of the social pressure on the Self to be combined with the desire of the Borg that is the facebook zeitgeist of my social grouping. I get irrationally mad at others discussing what they like (and conversely, what they hate), what they think, what they are doing, and what they want to be doing. Because there is always some small difference between what people are and what I wish they would be. Without getting too philosophical, that means I want the best for people in the best possible world, but I get annoyed when Im reminded we are in the world in which people watch reality television, cannot tell schmaltzy platitudes from honest emotional reflection, buy perfume, vote for charlatans based on rhetoric, and pay 100 dollars a pound for organic kale chips. Aint nobody got time for that. Im going to read, edit, write, and watch Better off Ted reruns for a while. It doesnt matter what you think about that. Im not trying to pressure you to accept me, and certainly not to be like me in any way. Im just posting this as a reminder for myself. Happy 2015.
