It troubles me that this page is intended as a site for demanding an equitably funded, democratically based, anti-racist, desegregated PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM for all Americans that prepares students to exercise compassionate and critical decision making with civic virtue (see the about page) and yet there seems to be so much anti-school and pro home schooling. Homeschooling does not disqualify your child from taking the standardized tests and is a whole separate issue. I wish the focus would remain on making public schools spaces where ALL children have an opportunity to flourish, grow, question, challenge, think and be prepared as democratic citizens... (again, this is found on the about page) Its my desire to FIGHT to change the corporate reform systems that are being implemented. In order to fight, you have to stay in the trenches.
