It turns out that women made most of the oldest-known cave art paintings. Most scholars had assumed these ancient artists were predominantly men, so this new finding overturns decades of archaeological dogma. Furthermore: Most of the art was made by shamans who went into trances to try to connect with the spirit world. Therefore: A majority of the art in the ancient caves was probably created by women shamans.
