It was 1993 when I donated my kidney to my cousin, my friend and my bossom brother. And unfortunately, on the 16 June 2014, he passed on and on that day I sang the Sankomota classic - You waiting for your name to be called. Sandile Khanye, was a dear friend of mine and Im still to get over his demise. That was one man who lived his life to the fullest, if you know what I mean. Most men I know, will complain about how life has dealt them a big injustice and find every reason not to live to the best of their capabilities or to the best of their purpose in life, but not Sandile Khanye. Sandile was a proud Mosotho just like me. A proud Motlokoa. And I am sure our ancestors welcomed him with pride and joy, because he did it! Sandile Khanye was the Man and I thank God for presenting him to us and let us enjoy his company for 38 enjoyable and most cherished years. My brother, your memory shall live long and my love for you and family shall die the day of my demise. In his memory I request fellow Africans to learn more and understand organ donation. Organ donation cannot and shall never be wrong. And the day of my demise, it must be done yet again to save whoever in need of a fighting chance in life. Life is something to be cherished and most appreciated and if you can give someone that gift of life - Just do it!
