It was 9 years ago today that Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana. The first image shares facts about the storm. The second image is the statement issued by the NWS office in New Orleans about 20 hours before landfall. While the devastation from Katrinas winds were far less (flooding was worse), the tone of the message got many people to take action and undoubtedly saved many lives!
