It was Monday of Super Bowl week in 2004. I was covering the #CarolinaPanthers as a News Reporter for the then named News 14 Carolina. Standing outside of the interview room having just joined the masses in sticking a camera and mic in front of numerous Panthers players at the Houston convention center, a man tapped me on the shoulder and asked, hey, do you know where the Panthers players are? It was #ESPNs Stuart Scott. I replied something along the lines of, through that door. Semi-embarrassed, he smiled and said, thanks man, have a great week. 25 years old at the time, it was refreshing to know a talent of his caliber could feel as lost as I did at that moment. It was also the realization that we were all in this together for the next 7 days. And Ill never forget that smile.
