It was a Dream- Osagie Alex Standing on the pedestal, Placed on lofty heights by the expectations of others, Looking from afar the high mountain of solitude and isolation, No one really cares, all they expect is what they can use me to achieve, I felt worn out, used, battered and left with a stigma, Abandoned by close buddies who did whisper they never leave me, I was alone, Alone with my thoughts, Little can I explain what came over me as I reach for a stool and rope, Saying this must come to an end, Its time to turn off this faucet that flows pain, regrets, sorry, shame and disgrace, Indeed time to end it all, As I make a thick twine of the rope, Hung around the a tight edge, Saying to myself, It will be over in no time, I wont even be missed, I am here now and no one really cares except for those who need me to get what they want, In flash of seconds, Memories of my life was before me, The good old days, when I still had dreams, But here I am, Dreams fade before my very eyes as I put the thick rope around my neck, Placed firmly like my shoe laces, This is the end of my life race, Tears stream down my check, As my feet gather momentum to push the stool on which I stand away, In split seconds, I could barely feel my legs, The room suddenly begins to go blur, I could no longer here the sounds, Never knew what awaits we next, But from this world i took my exit, Suddenly I felt a big hand on my back, Alex, Alex, wake up today is nysc clearance, It was all but a dream.
