It was a Forrest Gump kind of day...wanted to test out the HIIT Interval Training and how it would work on an endurance run....I literally just put on my shoes and went. No preparation at all....20 miles. The average time was actually about 13 mins per mile although it says 13:55...I stopped to take pictures hahhaha, enjoy the scenery and hit a ton of lights when I was on the surface streets. I went at a moderate pace because I was running alone and I have heard of people throwing up and cramping in marathons, didnt want to have that happen while alone, so I just putted along at a nice and easy pace. I ran out of time...had to get to a soccer game, but if I had another hour or so, I know I could have done 26. No cramps. No vomiting. Im telling you, the HIIT training is the trick!! You get the strength and stamina without the pounding and mileage you normally would put on in endurance training. Something to ponder on. Anyways, just wanted to share this with you....Im pretty sure you all could go a lot farther than you think!!! As soon as I walked in the door, jumped in the shower, grabbed fruit, nuts and yogurt and dashed to the game feeling fine. Came home, did laundry, made dinner, did housework....Im truly amazed!! Just wanted to test this out on myself and be the guinea pig before trying it out on you guys....I know you all could run a Half....I know it!!!
