It was a big day for our little ones yesterday, who started back at our Blue Skies Ger Village kindergarten after the long Mongolian summer holiday. For many of the children, it was their first ever time at our Centre, and for some their first full day away from their family. Our two daycare teachers arranged a small party to welcome the children and their parents, which helped everyone to feel happy and at ease before saying their goodbyes! It was a little emotional for some, but the children soon settled in and had fun playing and making friends :) The daycare project was initially set up in 1998 to care of children between the ages of 2-6 living at our Blue Skies Ger Village and in the surrounding area. Since opening it’s doors the project has helped hundreds of families and provided an invaluable service for the local community. The programme specifically aims to help families living below the poverty line, many of who would be unable to send their children to kindergarten if it wasnt for our Foundation’s facility. By providing this support system, parents can not only go out to work but they can also be happy and confident in the knowledge that their children are eating good nutritious meals, have access to proper healthcare and are being loved, encouraged and cared for, in a way that gives them the best start to life possible.
