It was a busy day for General Aviation Support Egypt - G.A.S.E. - TopicsExpress

It was a busy day for General Aviation Support Egypt - G.A.S.E. yesterday as we prepared to recieve the intrepid pair of circumnavigators, Babar and Haris Suleman, who had spent the previous night in Mersa Matruh on the Egyptian north coast. This would mean a relatively short flight in the morning from Mersa to October and we needed to get on the road early. Arriving in time and getting all the formalities sorted in the airport offices for their arrival it was a great sight for GASE representative, to be given the back seat in the follow-me car so he would be at the aircraft as it parked on the apron. A welcome ensued between the guys who had been in touch with each other for months but were now shaking hands for real. A quick transit through the security measures at the terminal saw the pilots then repostion down to Hangar Badran, where we all met up again to spend a relaxing and cooling few hours in the company of General Mohamed Badran Mohamed whose hangar it was. With the aircraft secured for the weekend we eventually took the crew on the interesting drive from the airport to the hotel...anyone who has taken this drive with us will understand what I mean by Interesting We got to the hotel and booked the guys in who then went and had a shower before returning to the lobby to meet Eddie...they were then given a tour of the hotel and were jaw droppingly impressed It was then time to go out to our pool for a chat, relax and dinner which made a pleasant change from the stresses of the previous few days flying. Haris, as is the way with teenagers, chose a burger...but was surprised when the Fairmont burger arrived ;-) GASE stalwart Ahmed Hassan Mohamed arrived after dinner to discuss the rest of the routing and was able to show the crew his professionalism and expert abilities in making sure their flight goes as troublefree as possible :-) Today (Saturday) is sightseeing day, so many photos to come, all of which will be posted here in albums when we have time to collate them all. For now, here is a taster of yesterdays arrival. Follow the pilots adventures by requesting to join their group at https://facebook/groups/578058208947616/
