It was a challenging year for football especially practicing at a remote location and playing a whole regular season on the road. It was my first season attending Pop Warner meetings (not my first youth sports experience as I have a background in lacrosse). It was a transition year on many fronts as the organization which managed football also changed. What I saw was Johnny Walker go out & raise $$$ to pay insurances, league fees, uniform, equipment, buses, officials. These dollars that funded this were not just given to us, Johnny called people, followed up with them, & allowed the program to survive for another year. The 145s were able to enjoy a great season and bring home a MPW championship. The coaches out there this year are all decent people who provided the children with very positive guidance, trust me you would not switch with any other community in this respect after sitting thru a couple league meetings and hearing complaints in other programs. There were 3 teams that provided young men the opportunity to play and compete as a member of a team which taught them many lessons beyond football and it would be great to field teams at every age. As an outsider who helped to organize this leagues efforts on the administration front and not as involved with day to day I would honestly say given the situation, the football program exceeded any realistic expectations anyone could have had. Octavius Ocky Veargis let me know when you meet I would like to be present, see you tomorrow.. Thanks Raffy Lazo.. now those are honest words... that only a person that works behind the show would know
