It was a cold, foggy/cloudy, and drizzly day at Clingmans Dome today, but we opened the season on top of Old Smoky with warm hearts, kind words and lots of smiles. Oh, and Sarges fantastic brownies. I look forward to great year with new friends from the OVC GSMA. They did an amazing job getting the store ready for this mornings opening. I was delighted to meet Bryan Nowak and his lovely wife Sharon Nowak today. Bryan is one of four featured photographers in the 2015 calendar from the GSMA so I had to brag on him to all my colleagues -- so fun! I also enjoyed meeting a few very brave souls thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail this year. After weeks on the trail they finally arrived at the Dome wet, happy, and impressively resilient. Im grateful for their inspiring spirits and the angels that accompanying them on their very long journey.
