It was a damp, gray fall day in Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania, befitting the dispersal of a storied Angus program, as Sinclair Cattle Company held its Complete Dispersal of the Sinclair Eastern Unit. A large crowd of Angus breeders, who have followed this unique breeding program, were on hand for this final chapter. The cattle sold well as 335 lots of individual females and pairs grossed $1,466,000 to average $4,465. In addition, 109 embryo lots grossed $237,750 to average $2,181; and, 143 lots of semen grossed $180,000 to average $1,258, which brought the overall sale gross to $1,883,750. Two daughters of the famed donor, SINCLAIR LADY 1C8 4465 topped the sale. Lot # 246, SINCLAIR LADY 9RN5 1C8, sired by RITO N BAR, sold for $32,000; and, Lot # 249, sired by SINCLAIR RITO LEGACY 3R9 sold for $16,500. Everyone was assured that this program, with its specialized genetics, would continue from its Western Division in Buffalo, Wyoming. Best wishes to everyone involved in the Eastern Unit of Sinclair Cattle Company.
