It was a delight to be at Mattersey Bible College last night. I am overwhelmed at the goodness and workings of the Lord. Just over 40 years ago David Powell and I looked over the former boys Prep School on behalf of the Board of Governors AoG with a view to purchase.Little did I know the roles that Joan and I would play at the beginning. She was to become matron and cook and I the dean. treasurer, gardener, lecturer, carer of the students etc. It was certainly a full-time demanding job that stretched us for good. We managed after a year to receive gifts that allowed us to carpet the whole place and purchase new wardrobes for all the students. How good to see how the Lord has blessed with good principals, lecturers, staff and students and Mattersey has become renowned! It is wonderful to see all the buildings and know it is the centre of activity for AoG. We can be pleased and proud in the Lord of what has been accomplished. I shall never forget two dear ladies, Mrs. Gallagher and Mrs. Depledge who lovingly served behind the scenes. they are not forgotten by God. All the best for the future of mattersey and all it stands for. Amen!
