It was a festive time with a parade route strewn with palm branches and the crowds, who were in Jerusalem for Passover, waving palm branches and proclaiming Jesus to be Messiah. But in just a few days the atmosphere will change drastically. The shouts of Hosanna will be replaced by jeering and the crowds shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!) Before you are too hard on them think for a moment, aren’t we a lot like them? We come to Christ excited and telling everyone we know. We’re praying, reading our Bibles, singing His praises. After a period of time we are back doing what we want to do when we want to do it. No, we are not calling for His crucifixion but its even worse – by the way we live our lives we are telling all who see that His death didn’t really matter. The new life we have in Christ came at a very high price! Do not live as though it didn’t!
