It was a good morning to be inside eating breakfast with some real good friends. I was invited to attend a breakfast with Congressmen Joe Kennedy and others. It brought back some good old memories of better times. When I returned from overseas in 1973 I attended the Governors Ball and met with Sen. Kennedy and his family. That guy could turn a cold dark place into a warm bright welcome area. today, I saw the same thing in young Joe. This kid is going to run this country one day. He has the style, the looks and the family charm to get where he-needs to be. In attendance were my friends Rep. Alan Silvia, Carole Fiola, Paul Schmid, and Sen Michael Rodrigues. ALso, A well know Congressmen Bill Keating, Se, Ed Markey. To round off the group was Mayor Wil Flanagan. Other local elected politicians in attendance were, Linda Pereira, Jasiel Correia II, Paul De Silva and Loe O. Pelletier and Michael L. Miozza. There were also school committee members in attendance. Everyone there had one major thing in mine. That was to get out the vote on Tue Nov. 4th to get out democratic team back in. Boll Keating is in a hard race. Polls have him down but he has a strong base and the other elected leaders are pushing the votes his way. I would ask that if you are a voter, get out and vote. People all compplaine about the way things are and that they want change. Well, you need to pay much more attention tothe votes this year and the question are going to be tricky to understand. read them prior to going to the polls. Rep. Carloe Fiola is also in a close race but I see her as taking it by a wider margine than last tiem. Carola has not stop working since the day she took office to fill the 1 year term left by DFave Sullivan. Give her your vote if you are in that district. Alan Silvia is not opposed. But Alan has not let that stop him. I see him out at coffee hours, senior centers, fundraisers, and just about every opening and even in the city. Alan wants you to know he run for you. He is working just as hard without a challenger has he would with one. You will see him at the polls and his people too. Show him your support if you live in the south end of the city., That rounds off this part of the election. We expect to hear in the next few days if the Mayor will wi n or loose any of the issues he has taken to court. The one that we need to watch is the one where the RECALL supporters want to stop his name from being on the ballet. They talk about your rights to vote and sign recall. But they want ot take away this right to be on the ballet as a (Candidate). And that is wrong. All the polls and pre election research shows that the majority of you that voted the Mayor in for two years want him to complete the term. On a two to one margin, voters are saying ( NO TO THE RECALL. ) On Dec 16th, join the majority and defeat the minority that try to undue the constitutional right to vote and hold office through out his FULL TERM.
