It was a great weekend for Riley Joe! The football game Friday night was great and our Panthers are off to a great start! Saturday we rested! The week was a long one so he and I spent the day being lazy! It felt great! Riley had been invited to a Seattle Seahawks football game watching party in Addison today, so off we went! Thank you Michael and Amy Callies for having us and for also getting Riley some more great stuff from the Seahawks organization! Pretty sure he was beyond thrilled! Thank you also, to the Dallas area Seattle Seahawks Booster club (hope thats the right official name) for giving Riley a shirt and hat. Riley really enjoyed today and Im sure he will be wanting to make another one soon! Tomorrow starts another long week of school, therapy and football practice! This coming Friday night is homecoming for VAHS and Riley was one of 5 boys nominated for Homecoming King! Congrats to all the boys! Congrats to the girls nominated for Homecoming Queen. Wednesday we are scheduled to pick up Rileys manual chair! I know he is excited. His chair is equipped with electric wheels that will roll with a small push. Riley doesnt have the ability to use the manual chair yet on a daily basis, but he is hoping he will soon. This chair is smaller than his electric chair and he will use it for short trips, out to eat and to the movies. It doesnt take up near the space and will make him more comfortable despite losing some independence. His goal is to be pushing himself in it by May! I think its something we will be celebrating in May! Please continue to pray for Riley! Pray for strength as he works hard every day. Pray for his body to open up to signals past his injury so it will start working again. He knows the odds but he is so determined! Love that boy! Prayers are being answered. We are so blessed!
