It was a historic moment in village Arahara, Barkagaon Block , Hazaribagh on 15th November 2013 when people gathered, dug coal from the land owned by Dharmeshwar Mahto by permission of owner of land and Gram Sabha . People from all over started assembling in this small and remote village temple to witness the people movement of take out their rightfully owned minerals under their land. The meeting which had more than 500 people from nearby villages and many National and State Conveners of Azadi Bachawo Andolan and Sarvoday Mandal witnessed this moment. Ms Radha Bhatta ( Ben) , President, Akhil Bhartiy Sarvodaya Manadal, while addressing the assembly, stressed the need for Gram Swaraj as Gandhi Ji had desired. She also praised the villages for carrying on non violent movement since 2003, though there were many provocations from government and corporate. Sri Amar Nath Bhai, from Varanasi in his Presidential Address warned the villagers about the caucus of four , Neta, Afsar,Corporate and Mafia cum agent. He warned that any one who is elected will join this gang and will not think about the voters, so the village has to decide itself as to what is to be done and they must do it. Manoj Tyagi, Allahabad, Yashvir Arya, Hariyana, Dharmpal Ary, West UP, Vimal Dhanot, Rajasthan, Vivekanad Mathane, Maharashtra, Shabhu Mahto, Jeswa Kachchhap, Arun Pradhan , RP Shahi from Ranchi were also present . The coal which was taken out of open cast quarry ( a Plot of 5 katta), manually and collected at one place, which was later auctioned. The proceeds of that was divided between the land owner, people who dug it, and Gram Sabha. The Cess will be given to Gram Sabha as per the spirit of CESS which will be used for development of the village without any agent in between. The Gram Sabha will in turn give receipt for the mined coal. There is plan to have more coal mining of this type on Raiyati Land in Hazaribagh after 23rd November and Dhanbad in January.
