It was a humdinger of a game. DLSU facing a Derrick Pumaren - TopicsExpress

It was a humdinger of a game. DLSU facing a Derrick Pumaren coached team seemed surreal. The vaunted full court press worked for 3 1/2 quarters but not enough to beat La Salle. With Thomas Torres out, Kib Montalbo did his share, especially on the defensive end. With AVO nursing an injury, Norbert Torres came through with what I would consider one of his best games yet. Jason Perkins did what he always does but unfortunately fouled out in the fourth quarter. Perkins fouling out proved to be a blessing in disguise as Prince Rivero came in and took over the game. Rivero, a nephew of former DLSU player Jerwin Gaco, surprised everyone with his all out play and literally out muscled the opposition. I prefer close wins like this as it shows the team that hard work and perseverance are keys to success. In the final minutes, everyone was in a frenzy except the ever cool Coach Juno Sauler. I think thats one asset that DLSU has. We had 36 turnovers and shot 31% from the field, but we came through when it counted. Kudos too to Jeron Teng for his vastly improved foul shooting. Thats the Game My friends
