It was a mere formality--but the San Diego City Council affirmed the series of wage hikes they passed two weeks ago with a second reading. The votes were the same: passing 6-3. It could set up the stage for a mayoral veto which would be a symbolic gesture since the Mayor Faulconer cannot override a veto with a six vote majority. UFCW Local 135 President Mickey Kasparian had harsh words for the Mayor who was not at at the meeting:
