It was a privilege attending a benefit concert and reception last - TopicsExpress

It was a privilege attending a benefit concert and reception last night honoring the works of 11-year-old Indonesian pianist prodigy (no other word to describe this little guy) Joey Alexander - who has gained the backing of Wynton Marsalis and will be performing for Bill Clinton this evening. Joey, who has been playing since he was 5 years old, is not only beautifully talented - largely playing without notes after hearing a tune once - but he is an incredibly humble young man. Last nights concert was in support of Joeys quest for US O-1 visa status for extraordinary talent, so as to help him build his rising career here in the US while further enriching our diverse fabric in the arts. He has a remarkable story and deserves this opportunity. Thank you to my friend Daniel Pincus for hosting.
