It was a privilege having these wonderful ladies, Sherry Meyers & Mariann Sanders of Springville, both members of Helping Hands of Porterville in for a special check presentation. Rachel McDarment, Public Relations & Entertainment Coordinator for Eagle Mountain Casino talked about their annual Eagle Mountain Casino Golf Tournament on August 25th which raised $40,000. Five local charities were recipients of those funds. Helping Hands of Porterville is also one of the recipients as we did the check presentation on air. They received a check for $7,500 so they can continue caring for the hungry and homeless. They have been doing this work for over 28 years, feeding 1.4 million people here in our valley. Many of them are children. They are looking for volunteers to cook from 8 am to 1pm. Also looking for clothing, food, toys and cash donations.
