It was a quiet day at the hospital. I got there around 9 and Dave - TopicsExpress

It was a quiet day at the hospital. I got there around 9 and Dave said they had rested good without many interruptions......guess they are saving those for MY nights there! Our challenge continues to be getting food down Jon David. His stomach is hurting and he has nausea, they are giving him meds for that, but it has destroyed any amount of appetite that he had. No matter what we try and entice him with. Danny even brought food down, that he normally really enjoys......got two bites down. So Im getting concerned and have emailed Dr. Kiser. The Hospitalist made his visit later this afternoon and I asked him about the test results from Friday. Because they now have computers in each patients room, doctors can look up all this stuff. He told me that the test didnt appear to show any change........so Im not sure what that means. I would think we should see some improvement by now. But I will ask those questions to the doctors that ordered the tests on Monday......I just dont think weekend doctors like to commit to too much and as long as you arent getting worse, they are content. Jon David continues to run a temp and he and I are so OVER him feeling bad. Hes ready to be home and we are ready to have him there. But Im not feeling like weve made enough progress yet. I told him I didnt want to take him home just to come back in a few days. Nothing about this is fair . Ive thought that a lot these last few days. One of Jon Davids former teachers came by this afternoon, Josh Mayfield. We love Josh, he has that dry sense of humor and since he wasnt a whole lot older than Jon David he knows how to relate to these guys. Jon David enjoyed his visit and I tried to give them some space to visit. Loved watching the Hogs play today! It wasnt the ending we wanted but you couldnt help but be proud of these guys for working so hard! Theyve come along way! Today is our oldest grandson, Masi, birthday! We miss not being able to celebrate these milestones with them! Happy Birthday Masi! Tomorrow is one of our favorite therapists birthday, Maly Jackson! She, like Henry has volunteered too many hours to count, to work with Jon David. They see his potential and wont rest until theyve reached it. Maly has a special relationship with Jon David, and I never tire of their banter. Hope you have a birthday as special as you are Maly! Hoping Sunday is a better day for Jon David, please pray for strength as he fights this battle. I want a smile back on his face. Love, Jacki
