It was a show of shame a couple of days ago at the town hall meeting of the advisory committee for the National Conference in Benin City where Col. Tony Nyiam thoughtlessly attacked Gov Oshiomhole in a heated verbal exchange. I think it was particularly rude, uncouth and disgraceful for Col. Nyiam to shout down a sitting governor. It demonstrates a deep lack of respect for constituted authority which we must not condone. Also, in a clime where mutual suspicion has become the norm, Col. Nyiams uncontrolled outburst will send the wrong signals about the intentions of the committee. Clearly, Col. Nyiam was completely out of line and I think he lacks the maturity, depth of character and gravitas required to carry out such an assignment. He should be excused from further participation in the committee.
