It was a special night tonight. I returned to my Alma Mater. I always dreamed of returning and giving back to a school that gave me so much. I know I held it together while I was up there talking and presenting a scholarship to my fellow alumnus, Angie Trujillo-Castillos son. It was an honor to award him a scholarship being that he did play football with my son, although on opposite sides of the field. But then everything; tears, emotions, hope, faith, and the unexplainable just comes rushing at once when I exit the room and sit in my car alone. Well with God and my son for I know they are creating this journey together so that I may CHANGE the future for our youth. This is only one of many ways I will honor My Son Martin SmashBro Garza.
