It was a year ago yesterday that my dear friend Pablo & I - TopicsExpress

It was a year ago yesterday that my dear friend Pablo & I committed to bring in the new year with a 30 Day juice fast. This wasnt just a juice fast for me, it was also setting the tone for a complete lifestyle transformation. We started on 1/6/14 & completely rocked it! I released about 30 lbs. & about 1000 lbs of emotional baggage. We then transitioned into the Paleo lifestyle. This was truly the best I had ever felt in my life! Eating well, getting regular, adequate sleep (which was something that only occurred in a parallel universe when I was working as a nurse) having a solid Bikram yoga practice 5-7 days a week in conjunction with 1-3 hours spent working out @ the Y before I went to yoga class. But I hit a wall & was not releasing anymore weight or inches. I had lab work done & much to my surprise I was pre-diabetic, had high cholesterol, fatty liver, a vitamin D deficiency & anemia. How could this be with such profound lifestyle changes? Also I had absolutely no symptoms of any of this. i.e. Brian fog, low energy, energy spikes etc. I was told by Dr.Michael Boss that it was all a blood sugar issue, & that my body was struggling to metabolize things properly. This was disappointing & frustrating. I continued experimenting with other diet plans, like Veganism, The Whole 30,(which was the Whole 22 for me), Raw Vegan, Vegetarianism believing each one could possibly be the answer. None of them quite fit, and the results were basically the same. Paleo requires way too much meat eating for my taste but my body did enjoy eliminating the grains. Vegan & vegetarian diets can be full of breads, pasta & other grains if you allow it. I loved the Raw diet but it was too hard to keep up with & truth be told I love beans and quinoa, both much better cooked! So what this comes down to me for me is just being a flexitarian not because I want to be slippery & eat what ever the hell I want, but because I need to be flexible & listen to what my body is telling me she needs at that particular time. VS trying to feed myself with the what falls within the parameters of a particular diet plan, especially when it doesnt completely resonate with me. So, to wrap this up for the last year & a half I have been on a mission to be in the best shape of my life when I turn 40, and after everything I just explained I feel like Im almost right back where I started at this time last year with 2 exceptions. I have a far better understanding of my body, what she needs, what she likes & which foods are optimal for me, & which foods are complete & utter poison. The second is I have 111 days until I turn 40. Still enough time to accomplish that goal. So, on 12/1/14 I will begin using the ARX machines @ Elevate Life Wellness 4 xs a week. I will begin eating the foods that I know are the most beneficial to me regardless of which diet plan promotes or rejects them. If I need meat Ill eat it. I need something cooked Ill cook it and eat it. The rest of the time Ill nourish myself with all the fruits, veggies, juices, salads, nuts, berries, seeds & smoothies that I want! 40 her I come! FREEDOM here I come.
