It was all drama 2day at Milimani Law Courts , A middle aged man Andrew Odwok who is facing a criminal charge 4 related offence appeared in court 4 de mention of his case, When his case was called out, he lifted his hand n apon inquiry by de presiding magistrate, he made a very interesting request.......He requested de court to issue an order that he should b taken to Hospital so that he can b operated/circumcised so that his remendees can stop harassing him, In his own words, Andrew said his fellow prisoners are threatening to forcibly circumcise him using crude implements, at this point we all burst into laughter n his colleagues in the dock nooded as if in agreement, The magistrate placed his file aside n reserved de ruling on de bizarre application for a later date... Apparently some prisons in Kenya hv been organizing Mass circumcision ceremonies for male inmates thus entrenching bias n prejudice against uncircumcised men in prison, there is no law that specifically outlaws forced male circumcision, anybody who carries out such an act may b charged with the offence of causing grievous bodily harm contrary to section 219 of de penal code, chapter 63 of de Keyan Laws, n is liable for 7yrs imprisonment.....Even under International Law, force male circumcision is nt treated as a specific offence bt is classified under other inhuman acts My personal Views, If a man or woman has chosen to keep all his body parts intact owing to personal conviction or dictates, We should let them b,they hv a right to do so..
