It was an overcharged emotional day everyone. We had Lees funeral service today. So many friends I havent seen in years, some I heard was there but didnt see... Rumsey Yost did a superb job. Tim Johnson officiated the service, Russel Schenke & I performed 12 HOURS FROM YOU, Tulsa Read performed AMAZING GRACE, we had a memories sharing section where Stu from STUS MIDTOWN IN LAWRENCE spoke, Mike Morgan spoke about many Lee topics and days with The Crawl after which I had a few things to add and Carla had some things to share. The vibe was upbeat as we celebrated Lee & his life and we all gave thanks & gratitude to a truly, truly magnificent human being and one that I can call my closest friend & brother! Exhausted I cashed out and woke up at 2am and here I am talking about tonights upcoming show BBs Lawnside BBQ from 6-9pm. The show will be mainly focused on LEE McBEE material. Carla & the family will be with us. Mike Morgan will be performing with us for sure for a large (if not all) portion of the night!!! Willie J. Campbell is making every attempt to be there. Regardless either way Willie will be playing Bass with Johnny Main & The 44s next Saturday 7/5 at BBs BBQ. As many know Willie played on Lees 44 and The Crawls I LIKE THE WAY YOU WORK IT and was also an early Confessor as well as a Passion! Although not every one is confirmed, It was discussed that tonight in addition to Allen Fishell, Jaisson Taylor, Timothy Earl Osburn, David Watson plus a few others will sit in on the Drum kit. Me, Willie J and Joe Fontenot on the Bass. Karl Angerer & Ralph Ybarra holding down the guitar duties with John McNally & a few others sitting in on guitar! Harp in honor of Lee: Jimmie James Meade, Tulsa Read, Russel Schenke, John Paul Drum, Jimmy Taz Tasoulas, Christopher M. Ryan Sr., Dustin Arbuckle will be with us in spirit as he is on tour in the UK and David Slaven is expected to play with us! Its going to be an incredible, incredible night! There is speculation of several unconfirmed National act musicians coming tonight also. It is going to be a massive evening of epic proportion!
