It was another great day for G.I.R.L.S. at Subleague! We had Nakita, Katie, Allie and Lizeth all on the competition mats. Unfortunately Sammy and Jennifer did not have any opponents. Early in the day we competed in Gi where Katie took first in both her weight class and the absolute blue belt division and Nakita took second in both her weight class and the absolute white belt division. Later came No-gi where Allie, Nakita and Lizeth shared the same division with two other girls. Allie took first, Nakita third and Lizeth forth in a very talented division. Since there was no one in Katies Womens division, she once again competed in Mens intermediate where she took second place in her weight class. Katie also planned to compete in Mens absolute, however one of the competitors refused to compete with her because of her gender, despite my objection she was not allowed in the division but was instead given an "exhibition" match. Much thanks to the other competitor who agreed to roll with Katie again. All in all it was an amazing day with all of our competitors getting lots of matches, submissions and showing great technique throughout. Thanks for repping G.I.R.L.S. Gym! I am really lucky to have such an awesome, hard working and devoted team!
