It was as a young 4 day old bride that I went to Trichy for the very first time I would be lying if I say that like Somerset Maugham s Lotus Eater I fell in love with the place the very first time, as having lived earlier in Metros like Delhi and Bangalore , Trichy then was indeed a small one horse town!! However ,the warmth of the people and the ambience of the BHEL Township really grew around us and we got really attached to that place. Infact I feel that one of the best years of our lives was spent there and miss it. Going back after nearly a decade was an enjoyable trip into the past and was filled with happy nostalgia!! We had a wonderful time visiting Temples-- the imposing Ganesha , Srirangam and Tanjores pride -- the Big Temple ,the two dams, Upper Annicut and Grand Annicut ,visiting friends, familiar haunts ,meeting people , showing Pooja a glimpse of our life there!! Visiting the KC club with which we were intensely connected, Ladies Club, Kannada Sangha, and above all revisiting Arivalayam was indeed an unforgettable experience !! Miss you Trichy, hope to come back soon!!
