...It was bright outside the the day had scarcely broke,the weather was clement and the sky was adorned like a bride with colourful happy birds chirping careless and free as they carried the message of the new day on their wings,sewing it like grains on every waiting roof as they chattered melodiously the song of the spirits alien to mortals ears and zig-zagged across the vast heavens cutting the waves and drawing imaginary patterns as they weaved their way pass each neighbourhood. Etim had wanted going out to inspect his yams to see which tendril needed bamboo sticks for support but he fely reluctant,so tired of weak yet after a careful perusal of his mood and what he aimed to achieve for the day,he picked up his sharp and glittering matchet and sauntered sluggishly along the lonely path leading to his farm that was very close to Idim okpong,the stream enwrapped in a myth that whoever visits it at night is sure to meet a mighty python... As Etim snaked his way sluggishly down the lonely path,he was intercepted by Ekpeyong who himself was heading to the bush to inspect his numerous traps.Etim startled at his sudden appearance greeted him but, Ekpeyong wouldnt have any of such friendly exchanges as he was determined to have a duel with Etim and so he forcefully retorted Etim am not in the mood for any nonsense pleasantaries,listen and listen carefully,I dont want you anyway near Enobong again Ekpeyong is that a new way to greet people in the morning?,please if that is a joke better stop it and you get out of my way,I have serious business with my farm,wont be lazying myself here with you talking woman talk this early morning about a girl am not married to .... excerpt from my novel( THE gods demand) TO BE CONTINUED....
