Knowing the holes would wear me out- we mowed an area down, layered newspapers- put some weed barrier over it, then dirt, topsoil, bulbs and covered with more topsoil & garden soil. Mulch will be the final layer - because these babies need to be at least 4 inches deep if not more. We shall see if they come up in the spring! At least we tried!
