It was great to see so many Year 6 parents come along to the leavers assembly this morning. Although that did make me a bit more nervous about the speech I had to make! Thank you for your kind comments afterwards. A few people asked me if I would share the following part on here, so here goes: Because you are old enough to know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and young enough to still be forming an opinion of your own. Because you are old enough to know that life is going to be a journey, but young enough for that to mean that it has only just begun. Because you are old enough to know what it means to be loved, but young enough to not understand how deep and unconditional love can be. Because you are old enough to come to faith, but young enough for that to mean that you have so many more questions that you didn’t know you had, Because you are old enough to understand what purity means and young enough to still encapsulate it. Because of all of these things, I would say that you are ready. These Christian values are captured in the verse that has been written in the front of each of the bibles I passed out. The verse is from 1 Timothy, chapter 4, verse 12. it reads: “Do not let anyone treat you as if you are unimportant because you are young. Instead, be an example to the believers with your words, your actions, your love, your faith and your pure life”.
