It was last night. One of my best friends, Michael, calls me. His voice was not as always. He said, ‘I am very sorry, and I have warned you time and again, previously. I knew that they will do this. Now you have to find out strong evidences to proof that you are a true Eritrean!’ I never understood anything. Especially, ‘strong evidences to be a true Eritrean!’ The most nonsense thing I have ever heard in my life time. Why do I need evendences to be part of this savage and brutal people?! If I was rendered any option to come to this world; Eritrea would have not been even the last country to born in to. Anyway, afterwards, he sent me what I am sharing here. I hope the regime in Eritrea would put an official seal on this paper and next day I would go to the amazing country (with 13 months of sun shining) Ethiopia, which the writer says is where my roots are. Here, I would let all Eritreans know, that I am not lucky enough to be born an Ethiopian. Unfortunately enough, for my complete bad luck I was born as an Eritrean. And if Ethiopia wecomes me for this paper, or any other reason, I will not even give it any second thought. After all, I am a global person and nastionalism, in this 21st c. gives me no sense at all. I am way beyond it. I am a man who stands for all kinds of FREEDON –without any limit- and Fyori Haile (Gal Haile) has full right to be heard to. So, here I am helping her for her voice to be overheard. If you have time to spare please read her. – Hashishula, bejakhatkum!- 1. In Early 70s his mother (Eritrean) was forcedly raped by DERGUE SOLDIERS in Ansaba Zone. the mother was then pregnant and after 9 months DESSALE BEREKHET ABRAHAM was born. His father was not known, so dessale was initially Baptized DESSALEGN. He also inherited his maternal Father and Grandfather names; BEREKHET ABRAHAM. His mother had already a child from Eritrean father before Dessale. As a child and born from an Enemy soldier, dessale felt some forms of descrimination and inferiority. To avoid such isolation, he then joined Revolution School (Biet Tmhirti Sewra). After liberation, he continued his education in DeQamhare Boarding school to University of Asmara. In university of Asmara, he joined various departments including Journalism, but never graduated from any one department. He wrote in Eritrean local magazines and news papers, worked with PFDJ Human resources, research and Documentation center. He never specified his identity. He would say Tigre, Tigrigna, or Bilen, but actually he never claimed any of these identities. PFDJ had brought Dessale to their office purely by his identity crisis so as to be used as a propagand machine and part of the oppressive mechanisms, however PFDJ never knew before if his identity crisis could take his origin to Ethiopia. He was also been such an opportunisitic and selfish individual every where in the Governemnt of Eritrea. The ministry of infromation notified the PFDJ office about Dessale identiy, Knowing this later fact, PFDJ dismissed him from their sensitive office but he was allowed to leave Eritrea on his will. He exited through Tesseney to Sudan, Uganda and finally Norway where he was granted assylum (his assylum declaration statements to be disclosed later) . The rest of facts Dessale writes about himself is exaggerated self esteam and the nature of identity crisis. Notably, the regime in Eritrea is known for its recruitment of any one with identity crisis, those who have nothing to be proud about. Dessale and his alikes have missed this chances right now, and I believe Eritrea will never have a place for such people in the future. Thus he lost hope in his cause and become poisonous against the people with whom he have grown up. GUAL HAILE. LikeLike • • Share 1.
