“It was like being in a bizarre kindergarten ... in a place that wasn’t merely on another world... but was simultaneously extant on a collection of extremely advanced worlds. Each day, all day, in my ordinary activities, I was carefully and shockingly re-educated, but teams of intelligences that could directly interact with my mind. And I with theirs. So that they could, essentially, transfer their own experience of concepts into my mind, in a way that was a process, but was direct. I learned otherwise impossible things. But first, the elements. I was retrained with alphabets, with Hebrew as a model. I was retrained in the meanings and applications of numerism and shown biological expressions in nature of the frameworks involved. I learned about the nature and origins of distributed intelligence. My model of the solar system was slightly revised, and the fundamental roots of conceptual identity that I had depended upon throughout my life were radically and carefully reforged. I learned the languages of simile, analogy, and metaphor... and began to feel at ease and aware of them. It was a second infancy, a second ‘re-exposure’ to human culture from vastly intelligent positions beyond it. I do not think that what happened to me was necessarily due to something special about me; rather, I suspect that in any culture that was reasonably organic and humane, this process would be common. And so, too, would the ladder of extensional expressions it implies as phases in a developmental process we have either forgotten or accidentally inhibited out of existence... or perhaps... into madness.” — an anonymous informant
