It was my distinct honor to be asked to say a few words at the retirement celebration for Steve Brady, president of Minnesota Lawyers Mutual last night at the St. Paul Hotel. Steve is one of the great ones who actually likes the lawyers he hires. I told him I spoke with trepidation because it was like being asked to sing for Sinatra. He can take a room. And I ended with Fielding who said of his hero, Tom Jones, that although he may have had some faults of a warm heart, he had none of the faults of a cold one. I dont know why our friends disappear when they retire, but they do. I hope it is not so with him. I told him I would even buy.
