It was my turn to stay with Amy, last night. All was quiet and around 5 a.m. the nurse came to get me. She said Amy was awake and alert and could communicate (she still has vent) she said she told her I was there in the waiting room and she wanted me to come back. Thankfully they let me back (they are strict on the visiting hours) I only got to stay for about 5 minutes. Amy was really trying to talk, they took the mitten off of her hand and she reached up and grabbed mine. I kissed her hand and told her it was going to be ok. She wanted to know how long she had been there, I told her it was her 6th day and that she was living proof of a miracle! She is really thirsty (which the nurse contributed to kidneys not working) she kept asking for a Sprite Zero Linda Carlton Mencer and she kept asking for the tube to come out (hopefully soon) Amy has a long road ahead. They are starting dialysis today. She still needs all the prayers she can get. Last Wednesday night, they told us she probably wouldnt make it through the night, the fact that we still have her 6 days later is a miracle. I would like to have seen her out of CCU by now, but that hasnt happened. We are just going to have to take things minute by minute. I am so thankful I got to talk to her and that I got to tell her I Love Her! Please keep the prayers coming. We are all so thankful! Love To All
