It was narrated that Adiyy bin Hatim said: The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever swears an oath, then sees something better than it, let him do that which is better and offer expiation for his oath. this is telling us that if u made an oath that u will not do something or u will not help somebody because d person provoked u and then u later realised that u need to offer him or her the help, the noble prophet (pbuh) said: go ahead to help d person and then seek for forgiveness in regards of the oath u hav made earlier. may Allah assist us
