It was on April 2nd in 1972, an Easter Sunday, that my family dropped me off in the parking lot, waved goodbye, and I started walking the approach trail to Springer Mountain in GA where many miles and time latter I arrived at the Suthern Terminus of the Appalachian Trail where I met Richard LaRue (search the net for his many accomplishments (HINT: Maine, UNE)) and five months and 2,000 plus miles latter I stood atop Mt Katahdin in Maine which led to my receiving an offer of employment from the Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo and my relocation from the island to Kalamazoo where I met Linda Carol Dunn and on April 2nd in 1977 we were married during a storm that dumped much rain and hail on the church and a tornado in Galesburg which leads to April 2 2014 where we will be happily celebrating by continuing the cleanup of the collapsed garage.
