It was one year ago on a rainy evening at the Legion on Commercial Drive that a small group of us got together, took the plunge and signed the lease to the new CoLab that we all now know and love. The space was a lot bigger than what we were looking for and so the monthly rent was a lot higher. Signing that lease was risky and scary. But we did it!! And, arent we all so glad that we did!? Its so amazing to see all the great things going on in the CoLab - art cars, tiny homes, giant penis sculptures, planter boxes, jewellery, furniture, motorcycle repairs, Delicas getting roadtrip-ready, furniture restoration, wood bike panniers, custom bike parts and so much more. As planned, were sharing skills, space and tools. And everyday the CoLab is getting a little bit more awesome. I think of how far weve come in this past year and can just imagine how awesome the CoLab will be next year. Bring it on! - Vancouver Community Laboratory
