It was one year ago today that my life, and the life of millions, was forever changed due to Superstorm Sandy. Looking back at the past year, it’s amazing to think about that time and where we are today. I have to consider us lucky, though I don’t think Adrienne Katzman-Stashin & I would’ve imagined it at the time. It was a long, stressful year (and one scary night as we waded through upwards of three feet of water trying to save anything we could) but we have persevered and are back on our feet. We have a son that is absolutely amazing. Family who is willing to do anything to help us and are always there for us. Amazing friends, both new and old, who have definitely helped us forget about what happened (even if you don’t realize it or didn’t know us when it happened). We know we were lucky to get back into our home as quickly as we did, as there are so many who are still fighting. Keep those people in your thoughts today. Thanks again to everyone who was (and always will be) there for us. In an odd way this was actually one of the most memorable, and best, years of my life. Hunter & Adrienne make every moment exciting and fun, have an amazing family and have made so many new friends we’re thankful for.
