It was over 16 years ago when we found this fuzzy brown kitty, soft as a bunny out on the streets of Chicago. She came to my MILs door begging for food. I fell in love instantly and took her in. Monte and I got married, she then came to live with us. We couldnt find her for about 2 years, she was so scared and damaged. All we knew is that she was still with us because there was poop in the box and the food was always gone. 5 years after we took her in she finally came up on our bed and asked for pets. She had a funny little puff purr, she was sweet and not very demanding. She went by Em, Emers. Ms. Em, The Divine Ms. Em, Emily and then Noahs cat. Today we said goodbye with very heavy hearts. We chose compassion to not let her get any sicker than she was or to try to prolong her life knowing she wouldnt get better. She loved toy mice and catnip, drinking out of the toilet, escaping once a year to the porch, and watching lizards in the yard. She was an Abby Tabby so her fur was unique in color. She had been a Mom that was abandoned once her kittens were born, that is when she found her forever home with us. I am grateful for these 16 years, and for the incredible giant hearted Vet Dr. Bahou who made this transition peaceful and loving.
